All Stonepark band students are strongly encouraged to attend the 2017 Band Camp which is being held this year at Charlottetown Rural High School from August 21-26.
Stonepark is always very well represented at all three levels (beginner, intermediate and senior) of the camp, and I hope to see the same response this year. If your child is unlikely to practice over the summer, this is a great way to make up for lost time and to get prepared for band in September!
The aims of the camp are:
1. To provide beginning band students with an excellent foundation taught by specialists on their instruments
2. To provide experienced students an opportunity to advance their playing skills and prepare for the new school year
Camp staff will be professional instructors and assistants to teach flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, French horn, baritone, trombone, tuba, and percussion. Classes will include instrumental technique, small ensembles, band rehearsals, and music theory.
The camp will be held from Monday, August 21th to Saturday, August 26th. The schedule is: Monday, 8:30am-3pm, Tuesday-Friday, 9-3, and Saturday, 9am -11am (beginners only). Intermediate and senior groups will perform on Friday afternoon. The camp will be held at Charlottetown Rural High School. Parents will be required to provide transportation to and from the school.
