Thank you to the 9 band students who have handed instruments, band sweaters, and band books to Ms. Eddie. If your child has not handed in these items, they must be returned the band room or main office by Friday, June 22nd at 3:00 p.m. in order to avoid a bill at the end of the school year.
Grade 7 and 8 band books must also be returned to Ms. Eddie by Friday at 3:00 p.m.
Students who are not returning to the Stonepark band program next year for any reason must also return all borrowed items (sweaters, books and instruments) by Friday.
Thank you for your assistance with this! Ms. Eddie and Mrs. Peters
Congratulations to all of the band students on their excellent performances last week at the Spring Concert. I was very proud of each performing group, and it was a pleasure to share all of the music we have been working on with such an appreciative audience.
Congratulations to Callie Trainor who was the very deserving recipient of the 2018 Musician’s Award.
Thank you to Mark Rooney and Halia Moss for their technical assistance during the show. As always, I am grateful to our administrators, and the staff at Stonepark for their support on concert nights, and throughout the year. The donations we received at the door will be used to support the extra-curricular components of the band program. Thank you for your support!
Grade 7 percussion auditions will be held this week. Interested students are asked to sign up for an audition time in the band room on Tuesday.
Percussion Audition Guidelines
All Stonepark grade 7, 8 and 9 band students are strongly encouraged to attend the 2018 Band Camp which is being held this year at Charlottetown Rural High School from Monday, August 20th- Friday, August 24th. *The camp extends to August 25th for beginners, but the Intermediate and Senior Band Concert will be held on Friday afternoon.
The deadline for students currently enrolled in the Stonepark band program has been extended to Friday, May 25th at 3:00 p.m.
Stonepark is always very well represented at all three levels (beginner, intermediate and senior) of the camp, and I hope to see the same response this year. If your child is unlikely to practice over the summer, this is a great way to make up for lost time and to get prepared for band in September! Attending the camp also provides a great opportunity for Stonepark students to get to know music students from other school band programs.
Band camp forms are available in the band room and can also be e-mailed to you upon request.
